Story Behind the Beautiful Chess Table

This chess table was made by my grandson, Jack, as part of the advanced course programme. He has done a fantastic job of what is really a very challenging and difficult undertaking. The timbers in the top are Burmese teak and Euro ash. The drawers are made from Teak and Poplar, with stopped dovetails. The legs are fitted onto the table frame with 10mm mortise and tenons. I am delighted to have beaten him in the first game we played on it, which does not happen often these days. Jack is in Grade 11 and very good at maths!
